Environment Scotland

Scottish lochLoch na Claise Carnaich, one of several lochs where we have carried out Water Framework Directive and Habitat Directive studies in Scotland

Mott MacDonald has been active in Scotland since the 1950s when its principle activity was the construction of several hydro-electric dams. Since then, we’ve played a significant part in safeguarding Scotland’s unique environment for a sustainable future for all.

We work for many different clients in Scotland, from the public sector and environmental regulators to private developers and utilities. Our core strengths in all environmental sectors including, ecology, hydrology, noise, pollution, renewable energy, sustainable development, waste and water, means we are ideally placed to offer large multi-disciplinary or small specialist services as required.

We understand our clients’ needs, and help them through every step of the project lifecycle from feasibility and design through to planning and construction. And with offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness, we offer our clients our global expertise combined with our staffs’ local knowledge.

Our services include:

  • Contaminated land investigation and remediation
  • Due diligence studies
  • Ecological surveys
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
  • Flood and coastal management
  • Pollution prevention and control (PPC)
  • Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)
