Mott MacDonald helps businesses, utilities and government
bodies develop long-term sustainability, environmental protection
and social responsibility policies. We’ve amassed expertise in
assessing compliance with legislation, and developed close links
with environmental lawyers and government agencies,
in countries around the world.
Our customers are responding to growing demands for information on
their activities and performance beyond the simple bottom line. We
offer customers high-value advice and consultancy on all aspects of
corporate responsibility, citizenship and sustainable development.
We also help our customers improve their non-financial reporting by
developing systems for the better management and reporting of
environmental information. For example, we created an environmental
information database of the large property portfolio of a major
manufacturer, which has greatly simplified its management of
environmental liabilities during property divestment.
Not only do we ensure that programmes and management systems
satisfy current standards, we also help to set new ones and develop
new legislation and regulations, for example we have recently been
involved in the development of new legislation and regulation in
China and
Eastern Europe for water resources.
Our environmental experts are backed up by specialist skills in
safety assessment and hazard analysis that are second to none, and
we're well-versed in best practice techniques - including 'Best
Available Techniques' (BAT) and 'Best Practicable Environmental
Option' (BPEO).
Mott MacDonald provides a range of strategy and management system
services to national and local governments as they seek to manage
massive growth of urban areas. We have developed strategies for
waste management, urban drainage, wastewater treatment and air
pollution control that have allowed the successful integration of
public and private funding in countries as diverse as the
UK,
USA,
China and
India.
Funded by the UK’s Department for International Development we’ve
developed a strategy for an Environmental Programme for Britain’s
overseas territories to match the UN Global Environmental Facility.
It gives the territories access tofunding for environmental
improvement programmes within a clearly defined framework.
