Coastal and marine surveys

intertal surveysWe undertook intertidal ecological surveys at this Ramsar site in England to assess the impact of discharges from a Waste Water Treatment Works on the designated features of the site. The site is also designated as a SSSI, SPA and AONB.

Mott MacDonald has identified there is an increasing need to establish the species composition and status of the communities in marine and coastal areas where development is planned, or where maintenance and monitoring is taking place.

We offer a wide range of ecological surveys covering all major groups of flora and fauna around the world; we do this by providing a specialist integrated service to our clients, bringing together biology and ecology. Our staff has extensive experience of working in the international arena as well as within the governmental regulatory sector, and have devised monitoring programmes to meet the requirements of international, regional and national legislation.

We have extensive experience of designing marine ecological surveys which are both effective and scientifically robust and are experienced in a range of survey techniques to obtain both qualitative and quantitative data. We provide an integrated approach to our assessments by taking into consideration not only the biodiversity of an area, but also the importance in terms of conservation and resource use.

Coastal and marine (intertidal and subtidal) surveys available from Mott MacDonald include:
