River Nile at Murchison Falls, Uganda
We have successfully undertaken a wide range of specialist
hydrological studies throughout the world, providing detailed
analysis for diverse applications in a variety of climates.
Our expertise has particularly focused in the past in arid/semi
arid and temperate environments, although we also have considerable
experience in working in tropical environments.
Our specialist skills:
- Designing and implementing hydrometric data collection networks
and processing systems
- Designing and carrying out resource studies
- Investigating water quality (including support for ecological
and environmental investigations)
- Designing and carrying out flood studies
- Analysing water requirements through computational means
- Designing and carrying out drainage studies
- Designing and carrying out studies to support groundwater
investigations/ modelling
- Building capacity to strengthen institutions and for technology
transfer.
Careful review of the quality of basic hydrological data is always
of importance to us, as increasingly is the potential impact of
climate and land use changes in our analyses.
We have built up considerable experience in the use of specialised
software systems for hydrological analysis, and have developed a
wide range of extensively used software in-house.
Past projects include:
- Strengthening of Water Resources Monitoring and Assessment
Services, Uganda – a project to build up Ministry capabilities in
water resources monitoring and analysis
- Surabaya Drainage Master Plan, Indonesia – hydrological and
hydraulic study of urban drainage
- Short-term Forecasting and Surface Water Yield Estimates, UK –
study for Anglian Water (UK) to project reservoir inflows and hence
storage needed for a range of climatic scenarios
- Bangladesh National Water Management Plan
- Surface and groundwater modelling for the Water Resources
Management and Land Improvement Project, Kazakhstan
